Step by Step Tutorial:
  • Open Google Sites then click on "Settings"

  • On the left side click on "Custom Domain", then click on "Start Setup"

  • Select "Use a domain from a third party" and click on NEXT

  • Enter your Custom Domain name, then click on "Verify your Ownership" to verify your Ownership.

**** Make Sure you are using same Gmail login in Google Sites and Webmaster Central

  • On the Webmaster Central tab, click on "Add a CNAME record"

  • Copy both CNAME HOST & TARGET address

  • Open Godaddy DNS configuration and Add a CNAME record and Paste both the address (after that refresh your godaddy browser page to update CNAME record in godaddy)

  • Go to you Webmaster Central and Click on "Verify"

****Owner Verification is Completed, now again setup custom domain.


  • Go to Google Sites page and Click on "Settings" then click on Custom Domain

  • Select "Use a domain from a third party" and click on NEXT

  • Enter your Custom Domain name and Click on NEXT

  • Copy both URL then Go to your Godaddy page and ADD another CNAME record

  • Add another CNAME record then refresh your Godaddy page to update records.

  • Go to Google Sites Page and click on DONE

That's it, Wait for 1-2 hours, then your Website will ready to use!!!


***Make sure you don't have any other/extra CNAME record in Godaddy DNS.
only 2 CNAME records will present, first for Owner Verification and second for Custom domain mapping.
